Building the raised beds (which you can just see towards the top of the picture above) was just the start of a pretty major landscaping undertaking.  At the centre of the display garden is a large pond, which will provide a home for water irises but also helps to moderate the environment around it during the peak of summer heat.  And of course, it is very beautiful.

There will be an avenue leading to the pond, lined with irises, roses and peonies, and pergolas to provide a shaded spot for contemplation.
