I am very belatedly catching up with this blog – recent months have been too busy to keep it up to date. This year’s opening of the gardens for the bloom season was a challenge: the cold weather delayed the peak of bloom by a good two weeks, it poured with rain on the weekend we had planned the main opening and we were swamped in black scarab beetles which munched their way through flowers (especially the paler colours). All the same, there was much to enjoy, including a visit from our local primary school. Here are some photos.
Scusa il ritardo nell’aggiornamento di questo blog: gli ultimi mesi sono stati troppo occupati per tenerlo aggiornato. L’apertura dei giardini per la stagione della fioritura è stata una sfida quest’anno: il freddo ha ritardato di due settimane il picco della fioritura, pioveva a dirotto nel fine settimana in cui avevamo programmato l’apertura principale e siamo stati sommersi da scarafaggi neri che stavano sgranocchiando i fiori (specialmente i colori più chiari). Tuttavia, c’era molto da divertirsi, inclusa una visita dalla nostra scuola elementare locale. Ecco alcune foto.
